As a white man, I realize that that our privilege has always been used to hurt others. It's time to correct course. We need to use that privilege now more than ever to protect the groups that it has been used to hurt. To protect the ideals that our country was supposed to stand for but fell short.

Self-importance isn't arrogance: it usually just means we feel responsible for things that have nothing to do with us & we have no control over them. Have you ever lived anywhere that YOU were the 'minority' & a different kind of people had the 'privilege?' Try that & see if they are any better. 😺

Yes, I have lived as a minority in central Tampa. But that's fine, You stand by and do nothing. You'd just get in the way. I plan to help where I can. You can stop trying to convince me not to care. That's how we got where we are.

Nobody, that I can see, has told you not to care. Obviously, injustice freely perpetrated against SOME of us will eventually get around to ALL of us if we don't stop it wherever we can. As an animal rescuer, I'd never want to discourage anyone from trying to protect the innocent.
