We have a limited number of refugee places. When they are filled with comparatively well off people paying people smugglers to gain entry & make largely fictitious claims (I must’ve read 100 such immigration files) - people are left in UN Camps around the world that would otherwise gain a place.

I disagree, what it shows is just how racially charged the perceptions of the electorate has become, and the LNP and RW media are driving this false perception for political gain. But the demographics of the electorate is shifting (which is what the RWNJs are pushing back against)
