I needed to take days off school. That was no different in week 1 from any other week. Days off helped to mitigate the damage that school was doing to me. Thank goodness my parents allowed it.
Reverse causality is a hell of a drug. The same factors that cause persistent absence cause missing of school in the same week. Investigate those factors? No, we will attack the first week instead.
