Oooh yea, you’re right, some of the skipping around seemed to be to connect themes, but others felt like they were there to throw in another memorable anecdote to keep it going
The trick is that skipping around also helps her to obscure certain themes
And, therefore, her own complicity in the events she’s describing
It lets her get away with being a protagonist "bad things just happen to" despite all evidence (in the book itself!!) to the contrary. Pretty indicative of silicon valley tbh
