At this point, it’s actually kind of funny that people are working this hard to anoint Newsom when we haven’t even had the goddamned midterms yet. The stakes are 0 at this moment; 2028 is a long way away, early front runners tend to flame out, and this is uncharted territory electorally.
It’s a weird form of pointless role playing, except that it worsens your relationships with Newsom’s critics.
Newsom is Sickles on Day 2 of Gettysburg. The battle will be won on Day 3, in the middle, and the stonewall will be healthcare.
I’d like to make sure we have safe and fair elections before I start fighting about who is in them.
