Newsom has already sacrificed another group—it’s homeless people. But @chriswarcraft.bsky.social is right, there will be a third group, fourth, etc. If you’re not making decisions based on principles then lots of folks can be expendable.

I mean, I get *why* from his perspective (perhaps the poor is catching?) but he’s also really into that sacrifice. Like the trans stuff is absolutely political posturing, I truly think he doesn’t care about trans people one way or the other. His policies against unhoused people is *personal*.

There will be a primary to hash this out and this is a terrible position by Newsom. Having “liberals” stay home and not vote is what got us Trump twice and will get us Trump for the 3rd time and “liberals” need to come to peace with that.
