Hey friends, Watch Duty has expanded their coverage as far east as Iowa, which means they now cover about 2/3rds of the country. I cannot recommend this app highly enough for wildfire awareness. app.watchduty.org

You can add up to 4 counties (or support them financially for more), which gets you notifications of fire activity near you. This is sourced from emergency services feeds, so it's accurate and in real time. Fire is a *huge* threat in our climate, and this app helps keep people safe.

Watch Duty is awesome! It was reassuring when it reported that the fire less than a mile from my house was under 1/4 acre and controlled within fifteen minutes of the crews arriving on scene.
