Florida??!! 'Nuff said. She's licensed for life.
Not necessarily. I wouldn’t trust Texas, but most State Bars are fair in applying discipline.
It's not the fairness.....it's the rarity.
??? I’ve sat on disciplinary cases involving lawyers.
Wonderful! Serious question: How is Matt Gaetz still licensed? How can the graft at the Supreme Court (I.e. Thomas's mothers house, extravagant travel, child's tuition) - wasn't some of it from donors with cases before the SC & Thos didn't recuse? Etc etc. How does this go on?
I doubt anyone has filed a Bar Complaint. It usually happens when a client is dissatisfied with the attorney’s work, financial wrongdoing or a criminal conviction. A judge can refer an attorney to the Bar, but MG hasn’t had any of that.
Thank you very much.
Thank you. Would love to discuss much further as I am genuinely dumbstruck by this. There were efforts on social media to file Bar Complaints among a number of these egregious violators, not sure where those went. The profession is suffering as it did during Watergate.
I think that really prominent attorneys, particularly scholars of the Constitution & legal ethics, should do this. It will have the most impact that way. One has been filed in DC & Missouri; another in NY. societyfortheruleoflaw.org/ed-martin-co...
It sure seems that way to me. When the man on the St. starts filing ethics complaints under reasonable circumstances, one has to think there is a systemic barrier in the profession itself. These violations are so extreme....
