1933... so this is supposed to be Neville Chamberlain licking Adolf Hitler's boots. well, he did figuratively do that at the time. but wow, the depiction here is so close to that orange fiend in the WH, it's like the artist had eyes looking towards the future. so uncanny!

Or Trump modelled himself on an olde English prime minister. 🤷‍♀️

The person depicted licking Hitler's boots is a representation of the French Prime Minister Joseph Paul-Boncour.

oh, thanks for the clarification. Chamberlain did get hoodwinked by Hitler by believing his promise of not invading more territories outside of Poland. i did not realize that Paul-Boncour also kowtowed to Hitler at this time period too. the image still looks like the orange fiend, though. 😁

no prob. Yes, Chamberlain is well known for being an appeaser. But it didn't look like Chamberlain to me and it was a French magazine, so I googled it. And yes, it scarily looks like the Mango Mussolini. Kinda prescient, don't ya think?

yes, that's why i said that the resemblance was uncanny, like as if the artist was looking into today when he made that caricature. given what Chamberlain did then, i thought that it was him on all fours in this image. a humble mistake on my part, and i thank you for pointing it out nicely. 👍🏼😁
