I hate the takes that are like, "our system sucks it doesn't have any checks on Presidential power at all." Yes it does! They're call the federal Legislature and Judiciary. Take a civics class dummy.

Our system was designed with firm checks on presidential power, but today those checks have largely failed.

It's like if you said, "I hate how this apartment doesn't have an air conditioner." Okay, you do, I saw it walking in. It's just your roommates voted to set the temperature to 97 degrees.

But then they are looking for a hammer to smash the thing because we all hate that its 97 degrees, they hate it too, but they dont want to change it.

We thought it would make sense to give votes per bedroom, but then one of the roommates got married and had 3 kids and suddenly it's not seeming like they're being properly represented anymore

Your analogy would be accurate if it read: it has an air conditioner, it just happens to be broken...or more accurartely...it has an air conditioner but some right wing oligarchs paid the landlord to break it.

Those in power CAN do it, in fact I have seen some of them do it. It's not that they can't, it's that they won't. Unless it affects them personally, because of course they do.

So far, Trump has defied judicial orders, and violated several constitutional clauses, and gotten away with it. He uses threats of financial, and judicial retribution on those who oppose his criminal activity. If he isn't stopped, he will, without a doubt, attempt to do away with the constitution.

Our system sucks, it is biased towards destructive factionalism and it has no checks against the influence of wealth. It's also tainted by compromises made to allow for human bondage at the founding of the nation. Come up with some snarky idiotic responses to that.

There’s a lot of problems with America’s system of government but no system no matter how clever can stand up to most of the people in positions of power burning it down and the rest refusing to check the arsonists.

If we had workers councils we’d be in the same spot if the counselors supported the President. At the end of the day our 50+1% of countrymen are stupid, evil, and corrupt and there’s no democratic system of government on earth that can fix that.

i did but i also took history and learned the founders didn't think the system of checks and balances could work if there were factions (parties). then they immediately formed the first parties.

This poster not a dummy. He failed to add that most of checks and balances don't exist any more. The prez is anti constitution. The majority in Congress bow to Prez no matter how evil. The Supreme Court makes incredulous unconstitutional decisions the Prez wants. In this era no checks or balances
