If you ever wanna miss home, spend 2 hours driving I-5 at night in the rain through Fife and Tacoma where all the reflective road turtles have worn out so you're in your lane by nothing but faith and good vibes. Coming home will feel reeeeeeally good. Promise.

I moved here last summer, and did my first airport drop off 10 days later in a thunderstorm. I was terrified by my inability to see the lanes coming through Tacoma. Next time I told my husband to drive himself and pay to park. Nuh uh. Not doing that again.

1) ROAD TURTLES i have never heard that term! 2) 100000% feel this when I lived in Vermont and was driving in the winter at night (I'm from California in an area where snow happens in movies)
Snow driving is scarier to me, that slippy ice is much harder to steer on than hydroplaning! The Turtles: I first heard it from friends in high school and never looked back
The snow driving was surprisingly manageable as long as I went Really. Really. Slow. But not everyone does! I remember once being in a slow n steady caravan on the main highway, meandering a snake path between all the cars that had dared to go hwy speeds and had gone off the road D:
