He sure is. What a great photo!
Donny and Marie were worked to the bone. This was taped on Fri, Aug 4, 1978, the same day D&M and brothers taped an hour long promo for the Coconuts movie at their studio in Orem. Andy played the Salt Palace on Aug 5. 1/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJeV...
The promo for the Coconuts movie included the Kiss Me Sketch so this was all done the same day, Aug 4, 1978. Andy did a few more shows on the Shadow Dancing Tour but cancelled the last four. 2/ www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rcw3y
In the middle of his cancellations, Andy turned up at the Ohio State Fair on Aug 21 and helped Marie cook dinner for her family. Again, Donny and Marie just worked to the bone. Not a fan but admire them for carrying their entire extended family all these years. 3/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPOP...
I would bet good money that Donny and Marie never signed up for being the two who would support everyone. Here's the promo they made for the Donny and Marie movie. You can see a better clip of the Kiss Me Sketch. All in the studio parking lot in Orem. omg. 4/end www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPoW...
More: In case anyone thinks I don't know about the Barbershop Quartet, believe me I do. Those little boys were worked too hard as well, and they were children, not teenagers. The difference is that Donny and Marie have had to do it for the last 45/(50!) years and the quartet was 1962-1969. 5/
I have a real aversion to putting kids to work. The difference is Donny and Marie have had to do it as grandparents! Never ending for them. Ann Moses did a lovely series with Donny on Facebook. Find it! She broke him as a star in Tiger Beat in 1971. They recently reconnected w/a series for fans. 6/
Whatever you may think of the Osmonds, and yes he's out of touch, you have to admire Donny for just not stopping. Ann ends up asking him the same questions she asked in 1970/71. And he had to answer without knowing his 1971 answers. Cute. Good for both of them they are still at it. β€οΈ 7(ok i'm done.)
