I had 3 Ettienne Aigner leather totes I cycled in spring/summer (lite brownish yellow mustard color), fall (brown) & winter (black) for abt 18 years. They got too worn this year but to replace the same quality was pricey. I went w/ 3 S Zone distressed leather totes on Amazon & love them! Summer one:
I love the first pic with the slight scratches adds to the natural leather imho. my go-to is a chocolate pebble BUT I could easily be convinced to buy a natural leather/pigskin-look this year. When I was a preppy I had two station bags and gave them away. Kind of regret it now, but they were heavy!
I love the natural look too. I need a big tote w/ lots of inside sections & pockets as I carry a lot of stuff w/ me. Definitely heavy but the leather isn’t thin. They have both handles & a cross body strap. Here’s the other two. I’m not a designer “snob” but it’s got to be genuine quality leather.
I guess I'll share this, too. For a long time I toyed with this Coach tote during Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation hearings. I was so hopeful and loved learning about her. In the end, it's too structured a bag for my work and general vibe. But I was close!

I don't even know how to be a designer snob. I hate a bag with logos all over it. Il Bisonte Italy sold to a Japanese conglomerate so those bags are no more. Wish I'd bought one last bag but didn't know... I like the black one. Since I've been WFH I no longer need a tote.
Not impressed by a designer’s logo covering an entire bag either. I bought my old EA leather totes at TJ Maxx and the designer logo was very small. 😄 I carry a bunch of stuff with me even when I go shopping lol.
Just saw this article which kind of explains the all-over designer logo thing as signs of being lower middle class (“the bigger the logo the smaller the wealth”) while truly wealthy people learned that these bags are about licensing deals, not style.
