Honestly, this is a not inconsiderable reason people don't like Dems/libs. It's impossible to respect anyone that is this cringingly servile.

But meanwhile *they* are busy saying that *we're* the unlikable ones because we correctly diagnosed the fascism (how dare we) and we hate Newsom (how dare! we!) and we (gasp!) won't vote for the transphobic candidates who want to disappear us 🫠
Especially when combined with the tendency of plenty of Dems/libs to descend into a sputtering rage at anyone (especially Black, immigrant, trans, queer) more radical than a chamber of commerce meeting.
I feel like the thing about the "undecided voter" that libs don't get is that the undecided voter doesn't really have a coherent ideology *but likes it when someone who sticks to their guns* and that's why they'll never get the Undecided Voter to vote for them
Like who is the Bernie/Trump voter? Honestly a total dumbass who likes it when people don't back down and say what they think, and don't really care if it's "capitalism is bad" or "black people are bad" But they'll never vote for someone who clearly focus-groups all their speeches
None of these guys believe in anything and they get unimaginably tilted by the existence of people who are unwilling to let themselves be compromised
Jamelle Bouie pointed this out a while back, specifically as it applies to the pundits who always feel a need to hand it to the GOP and Trump. So much of the democratic party, and of liberalism in general, gives off such loser energy. bsky.app/profile/jame...
I have a lot of substantive disagreements with the Liberal Currents people...but at least they unabashedly promote and defend their positions, and do it without all of this handwringing over whether it hurts the feelings of some guys in Ford F-350's who love to say slurs.
bsky.app/profile/did:... You see the same spineless dynamic with this Hakeem Jeffries remark. And Jeffries may as well be the shining example of this kind of spineless servility.
