Canada doesn’t just let people in because you feel like moving. It’s a rather difficult country to immigrate to.

You’d have a 6 month visa. As all US citizens do. After that you’d be in the country illegally. If you were sponsored to work there, that’s a different story. Your mom may get in with you as you’re her caregiver. But you won’t have heath care unless employed with visa.

Nurses are in high demand, and BC, in particular, has programs for quick recertification. Your mother may be a much harder case. Good luck to you. We need nurses.
