So sad, that. I think there's something interesting in what the dragons represent to the cultures that makes them converge in a way. A force of nature, a consequence to inaction, a representative of unchecked greed. I think the lizard aspect is leftover generational trauma re: predators
not proof there were actual dragons. My gullible tween self believed a fictionalized documentary about frozen dragon remains being found, and got bullied hard for it at the time
