watching that movie in theaters I thought I was going crazy when my friends loved it and I didn’t think it was remotely funny at all

Comedy is just so extremely subjective and contextual too. The last thing I would do is make someone watch something like that assuming they’d love it without knowing their sense of humor or any familiarity w what comedy movies and shows they liked.

I like Super Troopers but I relate because a colleague who didn’t know me too well in Grad School made me watch fucking Van Wilder w him like “alright settle in we’re watching this entire feature film right now”
