Who needs transit…we will have flying cars by 1975…great thinking! The longer you wait, the larger the city becomes, the more overcrowded the roads are, and the more the project will cost

Yes, "don't have transit" is 100% what I was saying. For sure. Good take.

When you say the cost will be paid by our children and grandchildren…yeah, that’s the way everything works.

right, but they still won't have effective transit. They'll have part of a vision put before voters 50 years previously. I am in favor of spending even more on transit than we do now. But it needs to have accountability & ability to pivot and deliver in the interim. Giant projects don't do that.

The issue with small projects is they never actually facilitate a master plan…why put in the infrastructure for the whole transit system when we only want to cover and pay for the area that we plan to service in the next 2 years…then in 8 years the whole system gets taken apart

Sure the vision has to be forward thinking and slightly flexible, but you can’t say that a series of small projects would be better than one large project because of cost or timeline…every road in seattle is overcrowded
