I think I'm gonna pass on Davinci. This is super stressful to look at. Why did they make keyframing look so terrifying dude

Erm is that not what its meant to look like
How on earth does markiplier use this
Mark doesn't edit his own videos
But he still has been messing with the tools, not to mention he’s been doing a significant amount of work on his movie, I listen to his podcast where he talks about a lot of stuff he doesn’t talk about in his videos.
Holy fucked it up. WHY WOULD ANYONE TORTURE THEMSELF WITH DAVINCHI RESOLVE ESPECIALLY ON A MOVIE 😭😭😭
Each of their own honestly, if Mark hasn’t been struggling with it, then he should be fine.
Fair
Why the fuck can't they make it look simple and easy to use? Christ man. I hate Filmora but Davinci made me feel like I was cutting wires to a bomb and no matter what I did i would die.
If you want some good free suggestions, kdenlive and shotcut are p good (this from a broke person who cant get stuff like premiere and resolve)
TBF, resolve is free
Aint that only the trial tho?
Not that I know of. I think some features are locked off, but only really hardcore shit like Dolby format support iirc.
Interesting, i shall investigate.
I'm not shocked. But at the same time I wonder if what they're calling "AI" is really "AI" and not just existing tech with a buzzword slapped on it.
That would be really funny
Though honestly, I want an update to Olive.
In the meantime, what are some normal editing softwares that look normal and act normal? I refuse to use ALT+scroll for zooming, that is not normal. Too many problems that aren't worth it.
Okay im even more confused that sounds like how it is in most softwares. its a minor inconvenience that can be adjusted to
Maybe ya can try blender? That has a video editing window.
also wtf do you mean the keyframes dont show up on the timeline? fuck davinci this shit sucks lmao
sometimes i get the feeling that every piece of specialized software is just 3 decades of updates tacked onto someone's personal pet project that once solved a problem for them in 1992
Stuff like this is why i tend to use multiple softwares
They do, you just have to enable the track. Also not every keyframe shows up there.
a separate track for keyframes is a hard pass.
I use VSDC, it's freemium but has a pretty good featureset just with the free version and I've not found it too limiting in my three or so years using it. It's pretty cool. :D www.videosoftdev.com/free-video-e...
i dunno if it compares in terms of features for professional creators, but we tend to use Kdenlive for video editing and find it pretty simple! has the benefit of being free and open source too
sony/magix vegas
it really does just come down to different audiences. resolve is more for filmmakers, filmora is more for smaller productions (like vlog editing, etc). there's not a lot of good prosumer options out there
Just use paper puppets and a go-gettem attitude.
If you stick with it its not that bad, especially considering that its free and its just as powerful as After Effects. There are a ton of helpful tutorials out there as well. (Also don't use the cut tab I hate it as well)
They built this thing for running on crazy workstations with a thousand custom buttons and knobs first and for normal users second. It didn't even have a normal keyframe editor until the newest update, you had to do it all in a tiny box under the video track or the separate VFX nodes mode
I used to use hitfilm but the entire product is now abandonware It’s pretty much almost one to one with premiere pro’s workflow, which is good. There should be some available downloads somewhere tho! I used it for like, years!
have you tried kdenlive? it's sure not better than davinci, but it has a pretty customizable ui, it does have some annoying things but i think it's alright.
I edit everything in Davinci and I’ve never seen this in my life 😭
It is SO daunting at first. If you're just totally yucked out of it that is so real. I promise that once you get over the first little learning hurdle it gets a lot more comfortable though! Not trying 2 jam my help into ur face but I PROMISE I could make it make sense in like a 20 minute crashcourse
I've been using DaVinci for like two or something years now and everytime I use it I want it sooo badly to be like After Effects when it comes to keyframes. Like I had a whole year's worth of AE training and I got certified but DaVinci I'm still like confused on the coloring and other tabs.
People in the 1800's-
the evil and intimidating keyframing
blender keyframing looks exactly the same and it has like five different interfaces just like this
It's understandable to feel overwhelmed. The default Davinci hotkeys always mess me up because I'm used to the ones in FL Studio, so I get it. However, I do think it's just the culture shock. It's the persistent curse of being self taught. Whatever you decide, you got this.
this is terrifying
cut tab sucks don't use it, use the edit tab instead
youre in the Cut tab, switch to the Edit tab and it will look more familiar
i swapped from vegas to davinky when vegas started refusing to render for no discernible reason. editing videos is so much easier with davinky. the learning curve is a brick wall but it’s worth scaling it
maybe it’s bc i swapped from vegas since they’re relatively similar. but what used to take me 12 hours with vegas now takes less than half of the time. power bins especially are sooooo useful for repeated elements like transitions, animations, bgm, etc. even editing vo is easier than in audacity
DA VINKY!?
They doing too much what the hell this is stupid
