You have a right to be bigoted but you should protect the constitution for trans rights. Fight them on turf there so the right doesn't move on to gay or women's rights. It's strategic if the moral argument falls on deaf ears.

Tolerance is the standard we should be aiming for because it's the right standard on most of these issues. Try to make people validate or believe in something and it rightly causes all kinds of trouble.
