Sidenote: I went to the Belle Meade Plantation for a tour. I like that they didn’t avoid talking about the slaves. They were frank and thorough talking about the horrors of slave life. The slave quarters were on the tour.

I’ve been there years ago, if I remember correctly the bullet holes from the war are still noticeable in the exterior.
I don’t specifically remember that. But they might be. I’m kind of a minor league civil war buff. I guess I don’t specifically know Nashville’s experience in the Civil War, what battles were nearby or if they were occupied by Union troops.
