I don't understand how "raping underage slaves" being a social norm of that past makes it any less unforgivable
It wasn't any different it was even worse actually anytime it happened it's bad...
And, I would bet there were others among our presidents that we simply have not become aware of. And, of course, all of Congress and many plantation owners and business men, as well as just average citizens were part of the culture of rape and oppression.
