Oh come on. At least it will not be the whole trousers getting wet. 🤪

A bit short-sighted....
Central London now like Bangladesh. (This comment will be the first thing of mine the Spectator ever prints favourably.)
Rain before 7, fine before 11 🤷🏻♀️
That feels like a bankable proposition.
Yes, it’s moved over to South Essex. I shall blame you 😉
Give it another 5 minutes…
sadly there’s more rain coming. tbf to your fashion choices, half of London still had shorts on yesterday (and it was worse!)
Screenshot this post and use it to advertise Bluesky.
31,000 sq km of land is flooded on average every year in Bangladesh. Thousands of people have died over the past 50 years due to this. Comparing this to a couple of hours of showers in London is slightly extreme and possibly quite inappropriate. 😉
Forgot brat summer, it’s monsoon autumn baby!
It’s such a tricky decision. In spring we peak too early and find ourselves summer ready in the middle of freezing weather and in autumn we hang on to the warm weather hoping it’ll last. My mother’s omnipresent cardigan in such situations was always a good choice.
Proper British rain though, comes straight down (not like that forrin rubbish) 🤣🇬🇧
There speaks someone who hasn't been to Scotland.
Touché 🤣
It definitely feels like Autumn now.
Legs’ll dry quicker than trousers :-)
It's a smart move. Your legs will dry quicker than jeans/trousers...
Depends if it’s hot rain or cold rain!?!
A decision to wear shorts is always right….
I did enjoy sprinting past an actual jogger to catch the bus...
Righteous yes, wise… maybe not.
Will weight less when wet and dry out faster
Even if they are damp, the world surely deserves your knees. 🤣
Good to leave your confort zone 🤭
Legs are easier to dry than trousers
Tbf, I couldn't find an umbrella or my raincoat so shorts might turn out to be right for the wrong reason.
Well look at it this way- legs are easier to dry than trousers.😇
Bare legs dry quicker than trousers.
It’s always shorts weather.
Not a problem - any true Brit knows that shorts are mandatory between April and October. Rain is not an issue as bare legs dry faster than trousers.
Wearing shorts is always the right decision.
On the bright side, you'll dry off quickly.
They're better for swimming...
It's that worst state of the weather - too hot for waterproofs, too rainy for summer gear.
I have a waterproof on today and honestly I think I'd be drier without it 🥵
It’s only water
It’s September! shorts season is well and truly over
It’s September, shorts are a must at least until the end of this month, especially in the south. #BelieveInSunshine ✌🏼
BST = shorts GMT = possibly trousers, likely shorts
It's always shorts weather!
If you have legs like ours...
Spend too much time on rugby pitches all year round with the kids, yes one of them wants to be a KC...
