Then who exactly is currently arming Ukraine? The Europeans are far more committed already then would have been considered imaginable before 2022

True, and I don't want to belittle that. But it's not been enough to bring an end to the war nor drive Russia out of Ukraine. Ukraine needs protection that will stop Russia from reinvading and I just don't think vague promises will do that.
Just to add, during the EU financial crisis the affected states DID GET THE MONEY. Where was the UK, or US, or IMF? Nowhere. Nobody else helped those states. The EU did. Maybe you don't like the conditions that the EU set. That's fine. You're probably right. But nobody else stepped up. The EU did.
Just to be clear. There was panic and arrogance. There was probably anger with Greece for risking the entire EU project. Many, many mistakes were made. There was no precedent. Nobody knew what they were doing. People suffered. But the help was given. It was done. Nobody else stepped up.
Bollocks. The minimum to prevent contagion was done. They'd have been better off defaulting. Not only that but the dismal lack of solidarity hurt the stronger states far, far more than stepping up to the plate would have done.
Greece's implosion dragged Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland down into the same hole. Even France was starting to go down. The entire EU was on a knife edge. So yes, patience was thin. Better off defaulting? Syriza was offered to exit the EU and realized that would be even worse.
That’s not what happened. The EU blocked Greece’s IMF access so that a bailout on harsher-than-IMF terms could be imposed.
No, that is not true. In fact, the financial package that the EU put together for Greece was a joint EU/IMF program with substantial investment from the IMF. This was in 2010. www.bruegel.org/policy-brief...
I’m aware of this. It does not contradict what I said.
I think it does? Below if the IMF report on the matter. Again, no word on EU blocking IMF access. Rather, they were brought in from the start. www.elibrary.imf.org/display/book...
