Just read his Wikipedia page. He seems to be an right-wing ideologue. Some people are ideologues by mental make-up. Left, right or theological, basically its all the same.
I just read that as well. Made me think that considering his background and education, he had every chance to know better. Would be interesting to understand the psychology of him becoming what he is.
Things become clearer when you perceive some people operate on an axis of power, not ideology, ideas, truth or correspondence to reality. Ideology is just a skin for attaching to and climbing the ladder of power.
