"Dominating" is a strange word for 1/3 of the vote.

In most multi party systems, the winner does not make it past 25 %. Above thirty isn't ordinary at all. Iirc in Belgium the last winner made it to 29% (or 31%, memory is fading) and that wasn't usual.
Exactly. So no one dominates. That's the point.
To be fair I think that's a slight exaggeration. The Swedish social democrats *did* dominate, and 34% would be a poor result in historical terms - although better than the past three elections
They're back baby!
(FYI @europeelects.bsky.social team posts here as well, although maybe with a slight delay bsky.app/profile/euro...)
Danish social-democrats are governing Danemark with an alliance of leff-wing parties. Swedish social-democrats are governed by a right-wing coalition, supported by the far-right party "Sweden Democrats", who have got 20% of the votes.
So the question would be : "who do you want to emulate ?" Except that Nordic countries have a very different political culture than the UK, so this kind of benchmark is futile.
Swedish social democrats are currently in opposition, not in government
That's exactly what I said. The right, supported by the far-right, rules. And thus the social democrats are governed, not governing.
Well part of it is Swedish Soc Dems are currently not in power and the RW government is not doing so hot.
