It's somewhat instructive that you can enter a 1970s era Mercedes Benz, and the interior can appear much more modern inside than its age. The copying that every other brand engaged in is a huge compliment to their style at the time, through to the 90s at least.
I've always cared more about the interior environment, where you and the people you are close to are, than the exterior. The unflashy nature of those Benzes feels far more satisfying to me, though, than the intense efforts to be eye catching today. If you know, you'll appreciate it.
