Yeah, but the Trump and Boris thing is that if you do enough horrific/dishonest/illegal things fast enough then none of them stay in the news cycle long enough to matter.
True, but imo that's 100% downstream of Rupert breaking the media in each country. (Easiest thing in the world for a competent media to build a pattern of stories. See what they did with "old, sleepy Joe". Would've had no trouble to do headlines like "another Boris clanger. Can he tie his shoes?").
You don't _need_ any single story to stay top long enough for anything, if you use each of them to vaguely handwave at past failings as the context for the new story. Plus it would've been true. The problem is each is "debunked" by the Sun/Mail/Fox/OAN/WSJ (once) spinning up talking point disinfo).
