At no point in Twitter's history-- or any website's history, for that matter --were there "never" abusive pileons, as you seem to be implying with this.

I'm not implying it. Will is. I'm being sarcastic in saying I like his version of events to imply they are false.

"Websites need to moderate their userbase to prevent right-wing assholes from taking over the space and ruining it for everyone" and "Marginalized individuals can still end up dogpiled and chased off of even the best-moderated sites" are two statements that can and should be able to co-exist.
