Successfully completed a VA audit.
Good! I bet that was a lot of work
I got a compliment on my outfit 💁🏻♀️
Nice! Always nice to get compliments.
I got a text from my Executive Director (state employee, programs are federally funded) saying that she was happy to have me as her partner as we navigate what has been handed to us.
That's really awesome!!!
These are the things that make people love where they work. I wish more managers realized that.
I made muffins yesterday and soup today. My threshold for "something good" is pretty low, but I am happy about the food.
Sounds good food is always good
I saw a goldfinch in my bird bath! First time ever!
We got a progressive pope! Go Pope Leo!
I saw that! And an American+
I got my car back from the shop after 3 months.
Finished a job, painting an exterior of a 1920s craftsman, a big house and was a lot of prep work. Hopefully on to a nice interior next
That's a lot of work!
I'm 59 and job hunting. Decided to stop acting my age this afternoon, and an hour later my hair was vivid aquamarine.
Solidarity! ✊ My hair is 4 very unnatural colors right now, and I'm the same age group, and job hunting as well. I wish you all the best luck in finding a job that you love.
Nice! Change is good!
Fun!
wow! love to see a pic!
Go you!
I was able to get past my neuro spicy peopling issues and make 2 tough phone calls this afternoon. I felt good.
Good! I hope they were productive!
🤞fingers crossed
🤞🤞
good for you!!!!
I woke up next to my wife and am getting ready to curl up with her and go to sleep.
baby who has been feeling poorly the last week or so got his appetite back (probably because we started cooking for him), is able to jump back on the couch again without pain, and is having normal 💩 again.
Ah that's good news! Glad he's feeling better
what a cutie 🥰
Great day! My tomato plant keeps growing (will be a good harvest), the Meyer lemon tree is full of blossoms, watched the election of Pope Leo XIV, video called with my grandson AND... my mom did not argue with me today! How cool is that! Got a lovely bottle of Crianza to celebrate! I feel blessed.
That's a great day! I want to see the size of those tomatoes!
You got it.
🙂
Safe travels, buddy. Stay safe. #SlavaUkraini
Thank you! I have one more day before I leave! And I planned on staying safe!
I had a day off. And I am now only working one job. I’ve been working two jobs for a very long time now. And I’m old. But not anymore. Yeah me. 😂 😊
I hope you enjoyed your day off!
I did. I got a lot of work done around my house. I even went grocery shopping and I can say food prices haven’t decreased. Neither has gas. So the orange blob is still a liar. But yes. It’s going to be nice to have consecutive days off. I’m not used to that. 😂
Enjoy them! Even though things are crazy
I got to pet a police horse (ridden by a very friendly officer) who was walking through our quiet little neighborhood in Madison, WI.
Oh, nice! Some of those horses are beautiful
I served and honored my fellow public servants. I set an example that affirmed theirs.
You're awesome!
Second this
🙂
Saw a beautiful redheaded woodpecker on my way home from work. Gotta take time to appreciate the little things.
Yes! That's what I did today. Stayed off of here and enjoyed the beauty.
On May 22 I will celebrate the first anniversary of my last working day of federal employment. I bought a small gas grill this week and cooked some salmon on the deck while appreciating the incredible gift of the moment
Always nice to treat yourself!
i had surgery on my throat, before it started swelling (common after surgery) i could already swallow a bit better, a problem that started long ago, had been getting worse, and badly so recently. 🤞 i will be able to get through a meal w/o a choking incident, it has been majorly impacting life.
My kid had to choose an entrepreneur for a school project, and they enthusiastically picked Bob Moore for making his company 100% employee-owned. I'm super proud.
Wow that is awesome!
I'm late, but I haven't yet found a tick crawling on me today. It's great.
That's a good thing!
Definitely. The other night, I found one on my butt in the shower. I'm already over tick season.
that’s a really good thing…i ended up in a nest of seed ticks once and that’s not something i’d wish on my worst enemy…well trump, yes i would, but the rest of the world no. now brad paisley’s song is livin’ in my head happy tickless day to you! youtu.be/3tiPndMqxLQ?...
That makes me think of a day, many years ago, when someone found a "cool" branch. They brought it into my car when the whole thing started moving. It had hundreds of ticks on it. Super gross.
omg i would have lost it…that’s what that seed tick nest was like
I do not want to imagine how it felt getting so many ticks on you. They're bad where I live, to the point my dogs aren't even allowed to sniff the edge of tall grass on walks.
seed ticks are almost impossible to find, they are literally sesame sized. my mom ended up with lymes after, not sure how i did not
Oh, and the local program for childcare subsidies dropped by appreciation bags. We have no garden at work, but I now have 4 types of lettuce to plant in the garden beds at home!
That's awesome!
you had a double whammy good day
I got fire insurance *** IN CALIFORNIA ***.
Nice!! Good to hear, because I heard about those fires.
Randomly got another 2 months of funding to keep 2 people around!
Successfully completed my family's passport applications. Having a plan B in case the 💩 irreparably hits the fan is a load off my mind for now. Two of the kiddos I got passports for today are autistic. If that damn registry becomes a reality it would be grounds to flee for me. Now at least we can.
I would do the same!! A Plan B is always good to have!
Super smart. I'm trying to get ours in order too. Adulting and parenting in whackadoo times is extra extra tough.
💯... I've had this appointment scheduled for a month, and got one of the remaining two available at the time. Also tossing around the idea of homeschooling, though it would be near impossible for my family logistics, if education is privatized. Most of my fears now are for my kids. 😔
We need an Underground Railroad of some kind for vulnerable populations.
I’m late to the fun but I saw my first hummingbird of the season at my feeder this evening. Such amazing creatures. They bring me so much joy!
They are amazing!!
😍
So grateful for all federal employees and hopeful somehow the tide will turn and things will change. Grateful for the ability for peaceful protest. And grateful for the 1st American pope—and from Chicago! Will forgive him for being a Sox fan instead of a Cubs fan. 😎
Thank you for the laugh about this Sox fan The tide will hopefully turn ... Stay strong. We're all in this together and we're all going to make it happen.Hopefully
Had my last class for my Bachelor’s - an artist showcase with spoken word, digital stories, and song! I played an original and “American Tune” by Paul Simon. The degree is from College Unbound, focused on building community through positive change.
That's really awesome! I never heard of that before.
I think it started in RI but it’s growing. Alternative but still accredited, it’s a really transformative environment!
Wow, that's cool
I got an unexpected $20 in my paypal account from some class action thing I totally forgot about last year so, yay!
Those kind of surprises are always nice!!
oh i forgot about that, i did too!
First time visiting a doctor in over 20 years. So, it's good that I'm finally getting a general checkup and some labs. Got a little bit of money today too, so now I can pay a couple bills and eat.
Good! We all need to do self care eventually even me lol
I got vaccinated for measles again! #texasshitholecountry
I'm glad you got that done
Planted potatoes 🌱 🥔
I wish I had somewhere to plant veggies Etc
If you have a jar and a windowsill you could grow some sprouts!
Actually i've been thinking about doing that! I just need to do it
That and a little window sill herb garden are probably both accessible ways to grow things 🪴 if you have a patio you can also grow so many things in containers. Nice for stress relief too. 💚
Yes, i've heard that from a lot of people! Definitely gonna start something
I do it all in buckets on a couple of old tables; tomatoes, cukes, herbs, zucchini….more to come! I love going out and picking my own salad.
I put together a solar drip system for my greenhouse and have a plethora of snap peas popping up. :)
Mmmm, solar is the way to go!
Today a good friend of mine realize they deserve better in every way. This makes my heart swell.
That's really great! Always nice when that happens to a friend.
My passport came in the mail so now I can book my summer vacation.
Yay!!!
I finalized my library’s part for our city’s World Music Day celebration
Nice!!
The pie I baked turned out wonderfully! 🍎🥧
I bet it's good too!
I actually got outside today in the beautiful weather, and danced around in new shoes to loads of compliments. And I can breathe through my nose again after 5 days of congestion! And I have groceries!
That's an awesome day! I'm glad you're feeling better!

My son helped me figure out what my current book is about. When your kid knows the WIP not at all and still nails it.
Smart kid!
I had Thai food for lunch and it was really good.
Mmmmm, love Thai food!
I tracked down a long, lost friend. I tried calling without success, so I wrote her a long letter thanking her for helping me survive pregnancy, divorce & nursing school. I hope the address was correct.
Aww that's really nice! I hope she responds
Thanks! I hope so, as well.
🤞🤞
This is lovely. The practice of letter-writing brings me indescribable joy. I'm sure your gratitude will be well-received.
I'm trying to make a habit of it.
I’m helping postdocs with their job searches, and I asked them to come by if they needed anything or to celebrate good news. One went out of his way to stop by and tell me he got an interview for a job he would love. Major highlight of my week.
