Saw this earlier today and thought it quite appropriate.

ADHD is not a disorder. It's a phenotype. A different kind of wiring. It goes on to list how people with ADHD historically were hunters gatherers and scouts with fast reflexes heightened sensitivity scanning attention the quick adaptability we're all super powers and natural environments. You can only gets labeled a disorder when you're born into a modern world it forces you to sit still for 8 hours a day, memorize a reverent information, and conform to system design for industrial efficiency - not human brilliance ADHD isn't the problem. The environment is.

there's nothing wrong with how you ADHD. this is just a very half-sided description of ADHD, even if it is certainly well meaning and atleast half accurate. while ADHD *can* be natural and genetic, it can also be triggered by developmental lead poisoning which definitely does not give superpowers.

as someone with lead poisoning based ADHD, i would be very interested to see the results if they ever polled comparing the health of genetic ADHD adults with lead based ADHD adults. i wonder if the life experience is significantly different between the two based on acquisition method.

superpowers is just a bad phrase to mix in with neurodiversity. it's supremacy talk.

the way an AuDHD friend explained it to me, neurodivergent and neurotypical, plus things like differing hours of waking function, seasonal function(SAD/reverse SAD), orientations, were all essential together in beyond-ancient times to cover every need of a large group. specialization, not supremacy.
