My boycott of the US is permanent. I will never travel there and will always buy anything but USAmerican. I have spoken to my investor and requested that no investment be made in US companies. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

This is the way. There is no going back for us.
π
I'm not super knowledgeable about investments but I was just talking about that this weekend! I've got my money invested in a couple of EFTs, I'll be sitting down this weekend to find new options because one has a 30% US investment, the other has 0%.
Excellent. It appears a lot of Canadians are! Thanks for doing your part!!
I canβt blame you! America sucks right now
Support Canada by visiting us, spending your money here, and buying Canadian products :)
Yes!!!
Iβm a WA state American and I support this message. Going to be interesting when we become immigrants to new countries to escape this one, isnβt it?
Saw this on the wall at the WWII bunker at Fort Rodd Hill, BC:
Me too.
Yay!!
The delusional US Ambassador said "there is no reason not to come to the USA for tourism". Yeah sure, I don't want to get kidnap by mask armed men and sent to El Salvador because I said a few words in French or they don't like my accent when I order a coffee.
I'm with you.
I certainly wouldnβt feel safe travelling to or within the US. Iβve been many many times (lots of fam there) but will never go back until the current βregimeβ is gone. Not in my lifetime I think.
I wish we could send him for an permanent holiday back to his own country.
Setting aside all that, the reason to not come to the USA for tourism is to not support the USA with our tourism dollars. I expect I've spent close to $100K over the last 10 -15 years in the US. I'll spend it at home, thanks.
Same here!
I absolutely support your decision. But it's a damn shame, because you're probably a nice person. Elbows up!
lol why would you consider that a shame? And, like most Canadians, I am a nice person. We just aren't the doormats that USAmericans have long thought we are.
It's a shame, because if I encountered either of you in America, I would probably enjoy being around you. But that won't happen if you're not traveling here. Sadly, kind people are often seen as weak, when it takes a lot of strength to be kind. That's why I say, "Elbows up!"
Yeah, well, if USAmericans want to support Canadians while your government tries to destroy us, You can come here. Spend your money here. Buy Canadian products.
Personally, I've found that sourcing non-US goods has paid off, not only as a boycott. Support Canadian, or other friendly countries, but not US. I can't see ever going back, no matter what our government does with trade deals, or when the orange pedo and his gangsters have gone.
As a Canadian, canβt even remember where the United States of Authoritarianism is on a mapβ¦
lol....like what you did there!
There isnβt a lot of discussion about US involvements and I wonder how many Canadians have divested from them. We have.
Excellent! Thank you for doing your part, Mary! xo
It autocorrected to involvements rather than investments - both work. π
lol...I automatically read it as investments!
We all read typos.
lol
I have zero$ invested in US and will stay away from that failing economy.
Thank you John!!
The irony of announcing this on an American created and hosted platform.
hahahaha!! This is fantastic! Mind if I steal?!
Absolutely! That's how I got it! π€£
LOL! Thanks! Cheers!
LOL...just waiting for the ALL-Canadian site to start up in the Fall. But thanks for being an asshole! Cheers and have the life you deserve in your 3rd world fascist shithole of a country.
Yeah, the US is filled with them.
the irony of chanting βUSAβ at your Dominican-born baseball players, African-born basketball players, and UK-born footies π«
Stevie is obtuse.
Agreed No travel there. No purchase of American products. No investment there. I scrutinize purchases to avoid US products being careful to note how the big chains attempt to hide the source. Indeed, if itβs Canadian then it goes in my cart.
π
Excellent idea.
We desperately need businesses to buy in to this concept and put Canadian products out front and centre and promote this.
Many are. And if every customer asked to speak to the manager, refused to purchase any products brought in from the US and the store took the loss things would change. Consumers hold the power!
With you 100% Now we need to refine a few things. Like fixing this "imported by" a Canadian business without showing a product's origins. Go after disingenuous labels with fines. Fill market gaps. And get a search engine making it easier to find Canadian products online.
madeinca.ca is a good place to start! :)
Not really. It acts like a directory, not a search engine. Good intention, but it doesn't serve the same purpose. A Canadian invented the first search engine (Archie: Archive without the V) you'd think we'd have the best one by now :) Canada is strong in tech, but not in serving ourselves in it.
There's also the whole thing about USian companies operating plants here. I thought for sure Old Dutch was Canadian but no, it's USian owned and the company donated $$$ to trump. Coca Cola, I knew was USian all along but they employ people here. So, "Made in Canada", yes, money to TFG, also yes.

When I called my Sun Life person to pull out of all American investment/pension plan accounts, she said they were receiving call after call for the same thing. Canadians aren't stupid. Byyyyyeeeeee!
Woohoo!!!
Our bank was bugging us to invest in their mutual funds, we said no because he could not give us a list of what they invested in and we wanted no part of any US investments and he confirmed that they did invest there.
This is heartwarming! We - π¨π¦ - rock!
π
Iβm Canadian and since Trump βwonβ I talked to my bank and changed all of my RRSP investments from the US. So far, itβs worked well.
Excellent!!
As an American....
Glad you understand.
But we're like you. I don't 'buy America', nor sell it. I'm way gruntled, forget the 'dis'.
Wise, considering the inevitable crash coming up.
Indeed. There are discoveries as well. Before tariffs the only vodka I would drink was Titos from Texas. I quit cold turkey. Then, tried a Ukrainian vodka. Itβs way better and cheaper too. This one is for Zelenskyy.
Tee hee.
Same - it's over π¨π¦β€οΈ
Thank you!!
With you!
If we all do one small thing, the impact can be enormous!
It is already having a significant effect.
π
Same! Never cross the border again!
Thank you, Steve!!
