I’m becoming increasingly convinced that all the protests, court battles, political punditry, and so ‘resistance’ in the end will simply not be enough. It pains me to say it but we need a purging. Violence will be needed to galvanize and awake so many people from their slumber and ignorance.

Or we could just show up and vote. The Republican Party is a minority party, their power is entirely dependent on the Left not showing up. The Left has ALWAYS had the power to stop the Right, the problem is that it's always been easy to manipulate the left into walking away from the fight.

Sadly I think that ship sailed when the 90M decided to stay home in November. I don’t know how much more clearly the dangers of Project 2025 could have been made, but it fell on so many lazy, deaf ears. We get the Democracy we deserve and I know it sounds cynical but I fear this is it.

Yes, but the object lesson of armed thugs taking people away in broad daylight is edifying in a way that no speech or policy paper ever can be. There were no secrets, and there should be no surprises - the Right even published their manifesto, they're just carrying on as they said they would.

Unfortunately, what people not being motivated in 2024 has brought us in 2025 is Republicans’ clear intent to screw up the elections. So no matter how angry people get about seeing armed guards in the streets (and not enough are upset yet) the chance that voting will
