Making apricots

Our apricot tree exploded last December. I picked and used as many as I could, but there were still plenty that fell on the ground. (And a week later, my brother-in-law's new girlfriend said she loves making jam... luckily they are still together. )

At my last house, I planted an apricot tree. Tiny thing - but it quickly grew - and I got buckets and buckets of beautiful apricots off it each season. Wonderful! Didn't give it any particular care. I only got a few apricots off this one each year. Then it died.

Eutypa! Apricots are an indicator species for this fungal disease. It also hits grapevines. Infected wood needs to be removed and burnt.
