At least, not make things worse. Because as far as I can see this failed impeachment motion is making things worse.

And how is this making things worse? people called on them to 'Do something' so they showed the people, "Hey, we can't DO anything, here's us trying, but without republican support, our hands are tied." ... honestly, the 'do something' crowd is more harmful than helpful...

By creating dissension within the Democratic caucus. Axios and Politico then amplify that and reinforces the public perception of Democratic weakness and incompetence. Ideally the Democratic leadership finds enough votes to pass the measure, introduces it, and then whips the vote so that it passes.

And Axios and Pilitico said before this? Something along the lines of "Weak democrats do nothing at all" right? It's clickbait headlines, the Dems are in a catch 22 there. Politiclly, they are helpless right now and the media exploits that cause it sells... If you fall for it, that's on you.

To pass an Impeachment through the senate, we would need 22 of the 53 republicans, and EVERY democrat and independent, to agree to it. To pass it in thehouse of reps would take 77 of the 220 republicans. There is NO way these were gonna pass, not with the cult-like mentality of the repubs today.
