It seems he’s forgotten how the images of police attacking black protestors mobilized public support for civil rights.

He's convinced it will be different because he's in charge.

He and his base are so siloed they don’t realize just how virulent the resistance to their policies is. They have based their entire agenda on a faulty understanding of how government and economy works and what it takes to control an extremely diverse and independent citizenry.
