No matter how I try, I still can't avoid concluding that the military can't be trusted. They're tools of fascists. You can't be a member of a fascist-run military while insisting with a straight face that you're anti-fascist or not a fascist yourself. That doesn't work for mafia/gang members either.
I agree with you on this. Besides am I right or wrong in believing that military personnel are brainwashed into being killing machines and following orders? Doesn’t military & LEOs attract a certain type of person, or is that a stereotype?
If it makes you feel any better, we'll find out if the troops follow the illegal orders of a madman long before you do. I fully expect that when the shelves go bare and the protests start in earnest, he'll try to sic them on us, maybe martial law. We'll see how they respond then. I'm not optimistic.

The rank and file are taught that they can disobey illegal orders. They aren't taught what those might look like. We used to trust that the brass was more level-headed. They were conservative but not sychophantic, rabid ideologues. That's being changed. The troops won't know constitution from tuna.
On Jan 21st, I was confident that they'd refuse. As they purge the brass and pump propaganda into the empty heads of the enlisted men, I'm less confident every day that they'd respect the Constitution.
