It's still a vaccine. Vaccines do need to be topped up sometimes and it depends on the virus' mutation rate. In the way that computer antivirus software needs to be updated to deal with new trojans etc. Covid being spread around has a higher rate of mutation. It's not complicated.

I believe it's because they are confusing measles with rubella, AKA German measles. Contracting rubella during pregnancy causes terrible birth defects to the fetus, so when a child gets rubella, it was common to see rubella parties so little girls could get it and become actively immune.

I am pro vax because there is a headstone in the Cut Knife Saskatchewan cemetery carved with "Arnold Raymond Lonard Riopelle 4/16/1931 - 1/4/1935" That's my great uncle who died from meningitis, we didn't have a vaccine for yet or he might have survived my great grandmother had to watch her son die.

My mother contracted polio in 1956. She recovered sufficiently to join the US Navy, but suffers from post-polio syndrome now. My late mother-in-law was bound to a wheelchair her whole life after contracting polio and died before I met her. The last case in the wild was near my home when I was 3.

Let me just remind you all: there's a huge difference between being anti-vaxx and being pro-immunity. I, for example, cannot inject some types of vaccines. For my own health reasons it's better for me to contract the virus or bacteria than to be vaccinated.
