I just went to look and he's not leaving NBC. He's staying on Dateline as the host. He's just not doing Nightly News anymore.

He is perhaps the most shocking. He’s like a classic trusted host for years. If they think this will raise their ratings, they are sorely mistaken.

As an avid MSNBC viewer since 2016, I feel like these trending posts are rather irresponsible and misleading. It is more strategical move than racially motivated. These are replacing Joy Reid's slot. None of them are white. The many reports on this are readily available if you look it up.

Not quite the same as having your own show. If you believe this was only because of ratings you may want to have your eyes checked. Also look up the articles from about 2 weeks ago regarding Trump's FCC investigating their DEI practices. The lineup is now almost exclusively white.

Having rich people control the news is the problem. They can help promote it and get it access to different cable providers and build their own streaming service. But it should be run by the producers and TV personalities.

How about a new station called DEIBC that is a nonprofit corporation funded by the public with a mission to be courageously factual? Billionaire funded news are focused on profits with a bias to ratings at the expense of truth. Opinions are cheap. And they have to be profitable pc opinions.

In the age of the internet, a good journalist is capable of making a name for themselves without a major network. If they have the gumption, they should band together and start a grassroots media source.

How? Takes resources to properly investigate a story. Few would have that by themselves.
