Folks connected to LGBTQ+ Rolla come out for a protest every now and then, but they tend to be just a few dozen people on the street corners. Nothing like what most cities see.

Rolla is a college town, FWIW. An engineering college, but a college nonetheless.

I live here right now and it’s still pretty solid red. Even here we only barely went for protecting abortion when it was on the ballot. The last council was hard right because of backlash against COVID restrictions and went basically unchallenged for two years.

It’s ranked on several top 10 engineering school lists for good reasons. Rolla is probably the most diverse city in Missouri, if you math local population vs student body the uni provides. Yes it’s not a big city, but it ain’t your typical show me college town.
