I grew up in the countryside. My brother bled all the way to the hospital after an axe accident. When my dad’s health got worse, they sold the farm and moved into town to be closer to the ER. I just don’t get the Republicans. They will destroy rural hosp just so a black person doesn’t get healthcare

Yeah, it's nuts. I work on a fly-in reserve close to Nunavut in Canada, and once we had 3 kids go down in one day. One accident, one illness, one domestic violence. Not one made it. So sorry to hear about the kids. It’s always sad. I know farm equipment can be deadly and at a minimum take off a hand or an arm. My dad cut off part of his finger. Put it in a plastic bag with ice and drove into town but it was too late to save it.

Thanks - that was a tough one. It can be a rough job, but I also have experiences that make me emotional because of the sheer joy. Going solo hiking up the James Bay coast knowing that 5 years ago I was so sick I couldn't walk on my own counteracts the rough stuff. Glad your dad was ok in the end! 💜
