Edema is a symptom, not a disease. The cause is impossible to determine from the photos. It's probably just age, though. The potential health risks from the edema are also impossible to assess from the photos. This is a nothingburger, other than confirming that he's old.

Lymphedema is unrelated to heart issues. People can have both though. I have lymphedema and my ankles would look like this for the rest of my life if I was not meticulous about my compression and treatments- but it will not shorten my life. But edema can have several causes. Heart issues are one.

No. Probably not. But often health issues impact each other. Like I have autoimmune stuff too. Not due to my lymphedema- but they love to work together to make me feel like dog crap! When I get inflammation from a flare up, my lymphedema flares too.

My aunt loves it when I give her a personal attention. She had all boys so they don't do that. I rub her feet and I massage your legs and I've given her a pedicure. She loves it when I come visit. Can you think of anything else I can do for her?
