With this new logo the business is harder to identify from a distance. The old one had a distinctive shape and coloring so people would know what it was from the interstate or quite a distance on business heavy roads. Like you notice your favorite detergent from the far end of the aisle.

I agree with that, drove the I75 down to Florida several times a year, and we always stopped at CB, classic logo. The new one looks a bit like a Denny's logo. They could make it cooler with some styling and maybe and youngins instead of the old man

It's the Cracker Barrel logo, inside of the barrel shape... No old man to drive in a younger demographic. Maybe they should have stylized the barrel a bit to make that more obvious.

The top and bottom should be smooth circular arcs then, instead of the straight-arc-straight progression they have. As things stand, the outline looks like Denny's but stretched vertically.

Lots of corporations have been turning their brands bland. It's a major trend.

The Smucker gift shop near where I live used to have a big giant strawberry on it. Then the smucker redesigned their logo to be all minimalist and they took the strawberry down and replaced it with a minimalist strawberry and it looks ridiculous.

That was what I thought when I saw the new Cracker Barrel logo - it's so boring! They could have taken off the guy in the chair and left the rest. The physical barrel was nice - most folks don't know that's how crackers used to be sold.

The JM Smuckers Co sounds like a place I go to buy overpriced farmhouse style furniture.

The new logo is even roughly shaped like the Denny's logo! (It's just vertically taller.) If they'd wanted to simplify the logo, rather than the rounded hexagon for the backdrop... they could have just used the outline of a barrel on its side.
