As I mentioned, the two out of the three final Moore movies surprisingly weren't shit with their female characters, Tomorrow Never Dies was pretty nice too thanks to the iconic Michelle Yeoh. And yeah, the Dalton movies I love the most for that reason (hough there were definitely eh moments in LTK)

from what i gather a lot of Bond fans dislike Moore, but this did resonate with me and i've always been a bit sentimental about the way his run ended. it was a departue from the way the character and series were established with Connery, and made its case it didn't need to be misogynistic to work.

Yeah, May Day is one of the best villains in Bond history. She even got a cool name instead of some cringe double entendre. Otoh, View to a Kill has that massive age difference between Bond and his love interest. I remember an interview with Roger Moore and he said that he found that really weird.

Oh yeah for sure, tbf when I watched it I didn't think much of the age gap, but yeah now that I think back to it Moore was quite over being Bond for sure. Honestly I didn't like VTAK that much, too campy for my taste, really liked if they had gone into more seriousness after FYEO.
