I hear that. The one semester I had off for leave, a fall when I only read research for my work, drafts of my spouse's dissertation, and a ton of application materials for an assistant professor job by a ~100 qualified candidates, left me badly out of shape for my return to grading.

It really does feel like being physically out of shape. Muscles that haven't been used for a while. It should come back quickly, but for now it's a slog.

I went from never having a group assignment to having 4/5 classes with group assignments. 😅🫣 I'm too old for this... I have my OWN kids in a group message! 8 days later and no one has added their signature to the grp sheet... 🙄😮💨
