I went to DC to protest W's inauguration too! The cops kettled us and I thought I was about to get tear gassed. What I most remember was the idiot W fans in their Texas drag, like fur coats, big hats, and cowboy boots.

We were reasonably chatty w/regular cops, but at one point riot cops deployed and faced us 20 ft away w/shields and clubs. A tense few moments, but then they stood down and a police officer actually apologized to us for the confusion. Bush’s limo really speeded up at 14th, though.
