And their base actually believes this
1/4 A few weeks ago I was having a beer on a local restaurant's deck. Guy talking with his daughter says: Yeah, I really like some of the things RFK Jr. is doing lately with regards to health... I let that slide... You know, mind my own business so things would not get too ugly.
Ask away, "like what?"
1/2 One thing I heard him say was about RFK Jr. removing dyes from foods. I knew in a few seconds that I knew more than this MAGA, and I have had too many conversations with them and they all go sideways because they literally do not know anything.
2/2 Basically, I recall that I was not really in the mood for one of those conversations that day, in that moment. MAGAts are major time and energy drains/wastes.
2/4 A bit later, I was talking with said guy, when the topic of renaming a local 14k' mountain came up... It was originally named "Mount Evans" after a racist who massacred Native Americans.
3/4 I said something like "Yeah, I really don't think we should be celebrating and naming things after fucking racists who massacred Native Americans..." Guy replies: "I guess we'll have to agree to disagree" MAGA! AMIRITE?
Basically he doesn't want to change the name he is used to. It is not uncommon and trying to make ppl change gets us exactly nowhere except where we are now where the wealth class runs rampant and pretends they are all about "traditional values"
This is where you say: I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
Exactly!
