Yes I agree that they were under duress but IMHO hollow threats as to the news organizations. I think the courts would have shut that down and that even SCOTUS would have stopped it (I admit that I'm 50/50 on that). It is different for the universities, whose only claim is maybe contract (even
though most of the funding was grants, not cotracts; they could rely on an equitable concept called detrimental reliance).
With Paramount, it was in their own self interest, as if turns out.
It was, and that was appalling.
SCOTUS. LOL More like a 33.333% chance.
There is another, larger issue and that is the unlawful impoundment of funds appropriated by Congress.
