I did a LOT of research before retiring out of NYS. Ended up on the Cumberland Plateau at 2000 ft elevation. Far enough from the coastlines to be safe from hurricanes, unlikely tornadoes, minimal threat of wildfires, Goldilocks weather. Bad part (for me) - red state, waking up to DT slowly.
