Having lived on both coasts after being born and raised in SoDak, I can tell you it’s always been that way and will never change. Time zones. We’re in bed here in Boston before your numbers are counted. Same with elections. Numbers come the next day.
Maybe move the Capitol to South Dakota, somewhere near the center of the country, for better access by all.

That's a bit more weather than feasible 4 a protest. When you say blizzard, are U talking not being able to see 3 feet in front of U, and 8 ft drifts? Dad was from MT, & used to tell us stories of their bizzards. Hubby and I are in the great PNW. I got a bit of sunburn, even with sunscreen on!
Yes, unfortunately, but the media could bother to include us West Coast folk--especially when the elections hang by a thread--usually OUR thread, for instance, b4 they jump the gun to announce the Presidential winner. Extremely frustrating!
Yeah, their statisticians always project the West Coast if the lead is big enough to hold up. It hasn’t always. The only reason Gore didn’t become president 4 days after the election when counting was finished was because he had already conceded in the national interest, though he may have won.
Exactly, you just made my point for me! Gore really did win, then we ended up with the bad economy, and all the rest, the slippery Republican slope downhill. It does mayter who wins the WH.
